MAS Presents is delighted to welcome Chilean vocalist, songwriter, and composer Natalia Bernal alongside acclaimed Canadian guitarist, composer, and arranger Jason Ennis for an intimate evening celebrating the rich musical traditions of the Americas.
Born in Iquique, Chile, Bernal draws inspiration from the folk and popular music of Latin America while embracing jazz, Brazilian music, and the Great American Songbook. Her expressive voice and thoughtful songwriting have earned her recognition for performances that are both emotionally direct and richly textured, balancing deep respect for tradition with a spirit of exploration.
Joining her is Jason Ennis, an acclaimed guitarist whose lyrical playing and remarkable versatility have made him one of today's most sought-after collaborators across jazz, Brazilian, classical, and world music. A longtime educator at Dartmouth College and Williams College, Ennis brings exceptional sensitivity as both a performer and arranger, creating musical landscapes that are as nuanced as they are expressive.
Together, Bernal and Ennis have spent nearly twenty years developing a musical partnership built on curiosity, trust, and shared artistic vision. Their collaborations - including the internationally performed trio La Voz de Tres, Bernal's En Diablada project, and their ongoing duo work blends original compositions with carefully chosen repertoire from across North and South America. The result is music that feels timeless, intimate, and deeply connected to place, culture, and story.
